The Chinese government's environmental information disclosure helps companies go green. Media monitoring also plays a role in this process. A study looked at data from 620 listed companies in eastern China over six years. The results showed that when the government shares environmental information, companies are more likely to transform into eco-friendly businesses. Media reports can either support or hinder this transformation. The study focused on both heavily polluting and non-heavily polluting companies to see how they were affected by environmental news coverage.
