10% of Chinese plant species threatened, urgent conservation needed for biodiversity.
The researchers analyzed the threat status of Chinese higher plants in 2013 and 2020. In 2020, 10.39% of Chinese higher plant species are threatened, while 70.16% are not currently threatened. The Red List Index showed different patterns in the two years. China's threatened plant species are likely well protected, but attention should also be given to non-threatened species for future conservation efforts.
