Kazakhstan Struggles to Unlock Private Sector Potential for Public Good
This article explores how public-private partnerships are developing in Kazakhstan. The researchers analyzed data and found that such partnerships are just starting to grow in the country. Positive signs include new projects that are becoming more effective. However, some big issues need fixing: there aren't enough skilled workers for these partnerships, rules for them are too complicated, and sometimes there's not enough money for ongoing projects. To deal with these challenges, suggestions based on experiences from other places were made to help shape future policies for public-private partnerships in Kazakhstan, hopefully improving how they work in countries that are still developing.
