Recurrent earthquakes have caused many deaths and destroyed homes, especially stone masonry houses. Retrofitting these houses with earthquake-resistant methods can save lives and reduce damage. Lack of awareness, training, and resources have led to many masonry buildings being damaged during earthquakes. The study provides an overview of how retrofitting existing stone masonry houses can be done to make them safer during earthquakes.
