External louver shades can help optimize indoor comfort by blocking sunlight while letting in daylight. Fixed shades don't adapt well to changing seasons, so researchers developed adjustable louver systems for a Delhi NCR apartment. By adjusting the louvers monthly, occupants can improve indoor conditions and save energy. Two types of adaptive shading systems were compared, showing that they enhance indoor environments and reduce energy usage for west-facing windows.
