Satellite-Derived Crop Water Use Outperforms Local Estimates, Boosting Sustainable Agriculture in Arid Regions
The study compared different methods of estimating water use by maize plants in northern New Mexico. They found that the eeMETRIC model was the most accurate in estimating daily and seasonal maize evapotranspiration, making it a good option for water management in the region. This research can help farmers and water managers improve water conservation and sustainable agriculture practices in the area.
