The study looked at how China's Green Finance Innovation and Reform Pilot Zones affect corporate financing. By comparing data before and after the policy in certain provinces, the researchers found that the policy increased funding for green companies and decreased it for polluting ones. It didn't change financing costs much. The policy helped smaller green businesses more than larger polluting ones. It didn't strongly encourage innovation in green companies, but it did push polluting companies to innovate more.
