The study looked at how well language teachers are trained to teach pragmatics in Australia and Vietnam. They found that while some programs included pragmatics, none covered instructional pragmatics. Program leaders believe that teachers need better preparation in teaching pragmatics and that it should be a bigger focus in teacher training programs. This has important implications for how teachers are trained in language schools.
