Barley Yields Plummet with Reduced Irrigation, Threatening Food Security
The goal was to see how giving less water to barley affects its yield. They tried different watering amounts and timings to see what works best. They found that when barley gets only 10-30% of the water it needs, its productivity drops. If the first watering time is changed, yield suffers more than switching the second watering time. Changing both the first and second watering times together hurt the yield the most. This suggests that the stage of barley growth matters a lot when watering it.
