Energy use in China linked to environmental degradation and economic hindrances
Depletion of natural resources and increasing energy use can harm the environment and hinder economic growth. A study in China from 1971 to 2019 found that using more energy leads to higher CO2 emissions, which worsen environmental quality. However, importing energy and depleting natural resources can actually reduce CO2 emissions. To protect the economy and environment, the Chinese government should promote sustainable practices and enforce strict regulations on resource management.
