Lighter Electric Motorcycles Could Significantly Reduce Carbon Emissions
The study looked at what affects how much electricity electric motorcycles use in real-world conditions. They had people ride a test motorcycle on normal roads while collecting data on speed and electricity use. They found that heavier riders and faster speeds make electric motorcycles use more electricity, while slowing down saves electricity. Weight has the biggest impact on electricity use. To use less electricity and reduce CO2 emissions, they suggest making electric motorcycles lighter.
