Preclinical urology studies show bias risk, methodological rigour lacking in research.
The study looked at how well preclinical urological research studies were designed over 14 years. They found that key elements like randomisation and statistical analysis were often reported, but factors like sample size estimation and including both sexes were lacking. The quality of study design improved over time, but bias was still common. Reporting certain design elements led to more citations. Overall, there is room for improvement in the methodological rigour of preclinical urology studies.
