Organic Farming Boosts Chickpea Yields, Improves Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers
The researchers tested different types of organic manure on chickpea plants to see how they affected growth and yield. They found that using a combination of Panchgavya and Vermicompost on the Pragati variety led to taller plants, more nodules, higher plant weight, more pods per plant, bigger seeds, and increased seed and stover yields. This treatment also resulted in higher profits and a good benefit-cost ratio.
