Bank-related mutual fund investors pay more for ongoing expenses
The study looked at how different fees affect the amount of money flowing in and out of mutual funds in Thailand. They compared fees like management fees and front-end load fees for different types of funds. They found that investors in bank-related funds care more about ongoing expenses, while those in non-bank related funds are more attracted to advertising. Front-end load fees didn't affect fund flows much, but investors paid attention to changes in them. Overall, investors in bank-related funds were more sensitive to fees compared to those in non-bank related funds.
