High-yield sesame strains identified for improved agricultural productivity.
The study looked at 50 different types of sesame plants to see how much their traits varied and how likely those traits were to be passed down to future generations. They found that some traits, like the number of capsules per branch, are highly likely to be inherited and improved through selection. Other traits, like seed number per capsule, are also likely to be inherited but to a lesser extent. This information can help breeders choose the best plants for future generations of sesame crops.
