The article introduces a new way to estimate the population variance of a variable using information about another related variable. The researchers found that previous methods proposed by Sharma and Singh (2014) and Singh and Pal (2016) are part of this new family of estimators. They calculated the bias and mean squared error of these estimators and identified the best one. Different types of estimators within this family were also identified and compared.
