Mustard plants like Brassica juncea and Brassica rapa can help clean up laundry waste. In a study, these plants were put in a system called Deep Flow Technique for six days. Brassica juncea removed around 94% of COD, 85% of TSS, and 69% of TDS, among other pollutants. Brassica rapa also did a good job, reducing COD by 88%, TSS by 80%, and TDS by 65%. Both plants increased oxygen levels and balanced pH in the waste. This shows that mustard plants are effective at reducing pollution in laundry waste.
