The article discusses the pollution in drain water in Khulna, Bangladesh, caused by inadequate drainage systems and poor waste disposal. The length of drainage systems in Khulna is over 500 km, with different types of drains. Some areas have better drainage systems than others. Only 33% of city residents have access to drainage facilities near their homes. The drainage systems in Khulna need maintenance and cleaning. The paper aims to provide insights for policymakers, researchers, and environmentalists to improve the urban environment in Khulna by addressing drain water pollution.
