The study introduced microalgae into primary treated wastewater to see if it could help reduce eutrophication and other issues from traditional treatment methods. The microalgae treatment significantly decreased the levels of phosphate, ammonia, and organic matter in the wastewater. This eco-friendly approach proved to be effective in improving the quality of domestic wastewater, showing promise as a potential solution to common treatment challenges.
