New Rice Hybrids Outperform Best Check, Promising Higher Yields.
The researchers studied different combinations of rice plants to find the ones that produce the most grain. They crossed 5 lines with 2 testers to create new plants, then compared them to the original plants and other known varieties. Some of the new combinations showed better results than the best known variety, RNR 15048. Two specific crosses, KNM 1638 x IET 23993 and JGL 27356 x PTB 33, stood out for their high grain yield and other important traits like early flowering and plant height. These combinations could be used to create even better rice plants in the future.
