The researchers investigated how treating Oriental beech wood with a copper-based solution affected its strength, water absorption, and heat resistance. They found that impregnating the wood with the solution decreased its strength but improved its thermal properties. Higher concentrations of the solution led to better thermal characteristics. Additionally, the impregnated wood absorbed more water compared to untreated wood.
