Vietnam's Sea Dumping Regulations Fail to Meet International Standards, Urgent Changes Needed
Sea dumping in Vietnam is managed by permits since 2016, but there are limitations in the current regulations. The definition of sea dumping and the approach used are not in line with relevant treaties. Other issues include the lack of planning for dumping sites, technical regulations for materials, and a complex permit process. To improve, Vietnam needs to access treaties and update ineffective regulations.
