The article analyzes how well the Austrian Research Promotion Agency's general program is performing using a new method called adjusted Data Envelopment Analysis (A-DEA). By creating a new 'practical frontier' and incorporating management input, a modified linear programming model was used to improve efficiency. The goal was to identify an alternative frontier for both existing efficient units and new ones.
