Ship emissions in Mokpo Port causing 11,409 tons of greenhouse gases.
The study aimed to estimate the emissions from ships in Mokpo Port over four years. Using data from ship identification devices and port logistics systems, the researchers analyzed ship movements to calculate gas emissions. The findings show that ships in Mokpo Port emitted 11,409 tons of gas, with car carriers being the largest contributors. During docking, the most emissions occurred at Mokpo New Port, releasing 1,835 tons of greenhouse gases and fine particles. This data can help manage environmental information in Mokpo Port for better decision-making.
