The impact of public investment on private investment in Botswana was studied from 1980 to 2018. Infrastructure public investment was found to decrease private investment, while non-infrastructure public investment increased private investment in the short term. This means that spending more on non-infrastructure projects can attract private investment, especially in the short run.
