Tannery Wastewater Transformed into Clean Water through Electro-Fenton Technology
In the study, researchers tested a method called electro-Fenton to clean up wastewater from the tanning industry. They ran 27 tests using different amounts of electricity, time, and hydrogen peroxide to see how well the method worked. The results showed that the electro-Fenton process could remove a lot of the harmful stuff in the wastewater—up to 62.13% of chemicals, almost 100% of dirt particles, and the entire cloudiness. The process was especially good at removing dirt particles and cloudiness. The researchers found a way to predict how much of the harmful stuff could be cleaned up using this method. Overall, the study suggests that electro-Fenton could be a useful way to treat wastewater, but more research is needed to figure out how much it costs.
