The Singkil watershed in Aceh Province is facing increased flooding due to illegal logging and heavy rainfall. A study used flood simulation to model flood hazards for different return periods. By analyzing flood discharge and using software to simulate floods, researchers found that the downstream area of the Singkil watershed is at high risk of flooding, especially during a 10-year return period flood in September 2012. This information can help in managing floods in the Aceh Singkil District.
