New study reveals innovative ways to ensure rigour in qualitative research.
The article explores how rigour is achieved in a research strategy called ARS. It compares how quantitative and qualitative researchers view objectivity and rigour differently. ARS is a qualitative methodology used to study the work experiences of life insurance sales workers in Penang. The study shows three ways to ensure rigour in ARS, two from qualitative research traditions and one from the logic of abduction.
