Massive Potential Unleashed: Pearl River Estuary Holds 11,000 kW Tidal Energy
A numerical method was used to assess tidal energy resources in the Pearl River Estuary, China. The model developed for tidal current simulation showed that the annual average power density of tidal energy in the estuary is typically below 0.10 kW/m2. The study found that the theoretical potential of tidal current energy resources in the Pearl River Estuary is estimated to be around 11,000 kW.
