Forest managers prioritize resilience measures not supported by scientific research.
Climate change is affecting forests, so it's important to manage them well. Scientists looked at how forest professionals think we should manage forests to make them more resilient to disturbances. They found that what scientists study doesn't always match what forest professionals think is important. Some important measures aren't studied much, so more research is needed. Forest professionals also said that a lack of useful information and training makes it hard to use research in forest management. To help forests, we need to make sure research is easier to use in practice.
