Iraqi construction revolutionizes concrete strength with high-sulphate fine aggregate.
The study looked at using fine aggregate with higher sulphate levels in concrete mixes in Iraq. By adjusting the fine aggregate content, they found that it's possible to use fine aggregate with up to 2.33% sulphate content while still meeting specifications. Tests showed that these mixes had compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and modulus of rupture at least 80%, 94%, and 84% respectively compared to mixes with lower sulphate content.
