Agricultural Loans Boost Iraq's Farming Productivity, Transforming Food Security
This research explored the impact of agricultural loans on Iraq's agricultural output from 1990 to 2020. By analyzing data from the Agricultural Cooperative Bank, it was found that there is a positive but weak relationship between loans and agricultural production. This means that providing loans to farmers could help improve agricultural output in the country. The study suggested that offering both cash and in-kind loans to farmers can support them in executing their farming plans effectively. However, the analysis did not show significant correlations between these loans and overall agricultural productivity, as well as the area of land devoted to farming during the mentioned period. The findings underline the importance of financial support for farmers to boost agricultural productivity in Iraq.
