Increased nitrogen levels boost Indian mustard yield in arid regions.
A study was done to see how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer and when it's applied affect the growth and yield of Indian mustard plants in a dry region of Rajasthan. They found that increasing nitrogen levels improved the number of seed pods, seed quality, and overall yield of the plants. Splitting the nitrogen application into three parts also led to better growth and yield compared to other methods tested. Overall, using more nitrogen and splitting its application can help Indian mustard plants grow better and produce more seeds in arid regions like western Rajasthan.
