Revolutionizing sugarcane farming: higher yields, healthier soil, and increased profits!
A study was done to figure out the best way to manage nutrients for sugarcane crops to keep the soil healthy and productive. They tested different combinations of inorganic and organic nutrients on sugarcane plants for two cycles. The results showed that using a mix of inorganic fertilizers, organic sources like farmyard manure, and beneficial bacteria gave the highest cane yield and improved soil health. The soil had more organic carbon, increased microbial activity, and better physical properties. This nutrient management approach was also the most profitable for both the sugarcane plant and the ratoon crop. Overall, the study found that using a combination of different nutrients helped increase crop yield and improve soil quality.
