Researchers evaluated 100 MAGIC lines of rice to study genetic variability and associations with growth and yield traits. They found significant differences among the lines for all traits tested. Traits like tillers per plant, panicle length, and spikelet fertility were positively linked to higher yield. Selecting lines with more filled grains per panicle could improve yield, along with higher percentages of productive tillers and longer panicles.
