Collective forest management boosts community participation in Indonesian Social Forestry Program.
The study compared different types of community forest management in Indonesia and how they affect community participation in the Social Forestry Program. Collective management showed better social capital than individual management, with more meetings and activities that improve interactions. The stronger social capital of collective groups is due to their homogeneity and smaller size. Social capital, including factors like trust and leadership, significantly influences community participation in the program.
