Optimal wheat sowing dates boost yields and nutrient uptake significantly.
A study looked at how different planting times affect wheat yield and nutrient uptake in eastern Madhya Pradesh. Planting wheat in early December gave the best results, with yields dropping as planting was delayed. The variety GW 173 performed the best, producing more grain than Swati and Mangla. As planting was delayed, the uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium decreased significantly.
