Boosting pearlmillet yields with innovative nutrient combination leads to higher profits
The researchers tested different ways of giving nutrients to pearlmillet plants in rainy conditions. They found that using biofertilizer or farmyard manure alone didn't make a big difference in plant growth and yield. But combining these two sources worked better than using them alone. Combining biofertilizer or farmyard manure with a small amount of chemical nitrogen was just as good as using a larger amount of nitrogen alone. Using all three sources of nutrients together - farmyard manure, a small amount of nitrogen, and treating seeds with biofertilizer - gave the best results in terms of plant growth, yield, and profit.
