Late-sown berseem yields highest quality seeds with timely cutting management.
Late-sown berseem seeds planted on December 15 produced the highest yields of green-fodder and seeds, which decreased with later planting dates. Seeds from December 30 planting had the best quality, while January 30 planting had the lowest yields and poor seed quality. Cutting the fodder at 60 days after planting resulted in the highest seed yield, while cutting at 80 days gave the most fodder. The timing of fodder cutting did not affect the quality of the harvested seeds.
