Facilities management in buildings can be challenging, but using Building Information Modeling (BIM) can help improve maintenance and operation. A study focused on applying BIM in facility management for a medical building found that it provides accurate information for maintenance needs, budget planning, and long-term performance improvement. By using Autodesk Revit software, the researchers created a model of the building and used BIM tools to filter and export maintenance information efficiently. The research showed that BIM enhances facility management by detecting, predicting, and managing maintenance issues more effectively than traditional methods. Overall, using BIM can save time and costs, extend facility lifespan, and reduce errors and theft. It is recommended to explore BIM accreditation for facility management, especially in large projects, and to explore other BIM tools for future studies.
