Biochar treatments boost soil fertility and increase crop productivity in Nigeria
Biochar made from Senna tora plants was tested on soil in Nigeria to see how it affected soil quality and nutrient levels. The study found that after 60 days of biochar treatment, the soil became less dense, more fertile, and had higher levels of important nutrients like manganese, copper, and zinc. The pH, organic carbon, and cation exchange capacity of the soil also improved significantly. This shows that using Senna tora biochar can help make soil healthier and more productive for farming.
