Urban Climate Shifts Reshape Cities, Demand Rethinking Infrastructure
Urban areas like Dublin have unique climates due to energy exchanges between the atmosphere and the city surface. A study looked at two locations in Dublin to understand these exchanges. One site was densely built, while the other was suburban with lots of vegetation. The researchers found that different urban features affect how heat and energy move between the surface and air. They used a model to check their results and found they matched well. This study is one of the few globally to track these energy exchanges over a long period (five years).
