Handheld device accurately measures urban air pollution particle sizes and concentrations.
The Partector Pro device was tested against a standard instrument to measure particles in the air in a city in Germany. The results showed that the Partector Pro gave accurate measurements for small particles, but had some differences for larger particles. The total number of particles measured by the Partector Pro matched well with the standard instrument. The size of the particles measured by the Partector Pro was mostly accurate, especially for particles between 20 and 50 nanometers. Overall, the Partector Pro performed well in measuring particle size distributions and concentrations in the air.
