Households in Rampur Municipality Generate 65% Organic Waste Daily, Landfilling Suggested.
The study looked at how people in Rampur municipality manage their solid waste. Researchers visited homes and dumping sites to see what kind of waste was being produced. They found that most of the waste was organic, like food scraps, and that households were responsible for over 65% of the waste. The rest was taken to a landfill site by trucks. On average, each person in the area produced 0.022 kg of waste per day. The total waste generated in the municipality was 3325 kg per day. The researchers suggested using a landfill for managing the waste in a sustainable way.
