Climate change leaves Assam's Char dwellers vulnerable to food and housing insecurity.
The article examines how climate change affects people living in Char areas of Assam, India. Researchers interviewed 394 households to understand their vulnerability. They found that access to food and housing are major factors contributing to vulnerability in these areas. Some people are resilient to floods, but other factors like erosion and geography make them more vulnerable. Different locations have different vulnerabilities, so tailored solutions are needed to reduce vulnerability. The study suggests further research is needed to better understand and address these issues.
