The article analyzes agricultural land use in Ukraine based on soil quality and intensity indexes. It suggests restructuring land use to improve ecological status by converting areas to crop rotations, protective forest margins, and non-traditional agricultural methods. The study found that modifying functions of arable land over a significant area could enhance soil protection and increase land-use intensity.
