New brinjal hybrids show significant increase in fruit yield potential.
The researchers studied how combining different types of brinjal plants can lead to better fruit yield. They tested 28 hybrid combinations and found that some combinations produced significantly more fruits and larger fruits than the parent plants. The best results were seen in crosses like JBR-20-01 x JBR-20-11, JBR-21-14 x JBL-21-09, and JBL-21-12 x JBL-21-09. These findings suggest that there is potential to create new high-yielding brinjal varieties by using hybridization techniques.
