New Cropping Pattern Boosts Crop Yield and Profits by 54%
The researchers tested a new way of planting crops in Madhupur to see if it could increase productivity and profits for farmers. They compared growing mustard, T. Aus rice, and T. Aman rice together with better methods to the usual practice of leaving fields fallow, growing Boro rice, and then T. Aman rice. The new method produced 54% more rice and made more profit with only a small increase in costs. This shows that growing three crops in a row can work well in this area and be more profitable for farmers.
