The article explores training software developers and designers to conduct their own usability evaluations. In a study with university students, they were taught a simple method for testing website usability. The students became skilled at planning, conducting, and interpreting usability evaluations, as well as creating usability reports. However, they struggled more with identifying and describing usability problems.
