Massive Cooper Basin Project in Australia Boosts Economy and Energy Supply.
A $1.45 billion project in Australia's Cooper basin successfully started up as planned. The project aims to extract LPG, condensate, and crude oil from the region with significant petroleum reserves. A group of 11 companies, led by Santos Ltd., worked together to gather and process oil and gas from fields near Moomba. The oil is treated and the gas is purified before being sent to domestic markets. The project met its targets, including budget and timeline, and began generating revenue early on by shipping out crude-condensate.
